An Account represents all or part of the economic activities of its owner. It serves as the primary unit through which all transactions, contracts, orders, and commitments are recorded and managed.
All operations in the FlexUp model are made by and between accounts and must have at least one active admin member to be active. Members are users who have access to a given account with a specific role, such as viewer, editor, or admin.
In the context of a specific Charter, an account can be either
- the project (the entity to which the Charter relates) or
- a participant (any account, other than the project, that has or is likely to carry out transactions with the Project).
Account Types
An Account can be one of five types:
- Individual 👤: a natural person. Each user has one individual account as their main account (or personal account).
- Legal entity 💼: an organization with legal status (company, NGO, etc.). Each organization can have one business account.
- Grouping 👥: a collective account jointly owned by multiple Constituents through a formal agreement and used for collaborative projects without a dedicated legal entity.
- Subaccount 🚀: a subset of economic activities within a parent account. Can belong to any other account type, including another subaccount.
- Unspecified ❓: use this option when you don’t know or don’t need to specify the account type. Only available for offline accounts.
Account Presence & Visibility
The account presence can be either online or offline:
-
Online Account 💻: Actively managed by one or more users via the FlexUp App, and visible in the global directory, where they are listed. Requirements:
- must have at least one active admin member in order to be active,
- can have additional members, with any of the three roles.
You can invite existing users to join your account as a **member,** where:
- Their membership will only be activated once they accept the invitation.
- To invite new users, ask them to sign up to the FlexUp system first.
- Any member can leave the Account at any time, except for the last admin member.
Online Account’s visibility can be:
- Public 🌍: Visible to all users in the system.
- Private 🔒: Only visible to third parties (i.e. other accounts) that you already interacted with.
-
Offline Account 📍: Doesn’t have any members. They are passive and are used for bookkeeping purposes only. They only exist in the local directory of the account that created them and represents a third-party that doesn’t have an actively managed account in the system. Transactions with this account are only visible to you.
